VIENNA, May 18, 2012 - Dunja Mijatović, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, today condemned the attack on journalist Dan Buruca and called on the Romanian authorities to carry out a thorough and quick investigation. “Attacks against media workers not only threaten the victims themselves, but they also endanger media freedom in the country,” said the Representative.
“I hope Romanian authorities will ensure that a thorough, swift and transparent investigation is carried out in order to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.”
BRUSSELS, May 18, 2012 - Regarding progress on the implementation of the programmes of Ireland and Portugal, I'm pleased to say that both programmes are on track, and the re-balancing towards an expanding export sector continues in both countries. Concerning The Netherlands, we endorsed the budget deal reached by several political parties at the end of last month.
This is a very important agreement, and one that sends a strong signal of commitment to keeping Dutch public finances on a strong and sustainable footing with a view to securing the welfare of future generations.
ANKARA, May 18, 2012 - The new positive agenda intended to bring fresh dynamics into the EU-Turkey relations was launched by Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle and the Turkish Minister for European Affairs and Chief EU negotiator Egemen Bağış in Ankara on Thursday.
The aim of this process is to keep the accession process of Turkey alive and put it properly back on track after a period of stagnation.
MALAYSIA, May 18, 2012 - Motives push people to perceive, think and act in specific ways that attempt to satisfy needs. Motives often stay unconscious in a person, as the person doesn’t know exactly what they want, yet these motives remain powerful influence behind thoughts, feelings and behaviors. People differ in their types and strength of motives, taking them on different lifetime journeys with different outcomes.
For example, Anita Roddick, the founder of The Body Shop may have been personally committed to the environment, education and social change, while Jack Welch and Bill Gates were more motivated by competition and winning, leading to completely different types of organizations and operational philosophies, while all being considered more than successful.
