Concept of Romania’s Pavilion at EXPO 2012

romania pavilion.jpgBUCHAREST, November 03, 2011 - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as coordinator of Romania’s participation in EXPO 2012, in Yeosu, the Republic of Korea, has selected the exhibition concept for Romania’s Pavilion. The public procurement procedure for a contract of services consisting in developing the concept for Romania’s Pavilion at the 2012 International Exhibition in Yeosu, the Republic of Korea and consultancy for the implementation of the concept, involved bids by Graffiti BBDO and SC Arcsett SRL. SC Arcsett was the winner.

The basic theme of the national concept for Romania’s presence at Yeosu is the Danube Delta, in tune with the general theme of EXPO 2012, “The Living Ocean and Coast: Diversity of Resources and Sustainable Activities.”

The concept will mainly highlight:

- the uniqueness and ecological importance of the Danube Delta, as also of its protected areas, in the context of sustainable development;

- the way to make visitors realize the need to protect the Danube Delta biosphere and the natural beauty of that zone;

- the way to inform visitors of sustainable development problems worldwide and sustainable measures to protect the Danube Delta and its wildlife.

Emphasis is to be given to the river Danube which, alongside the Black Sea, is one of the major landmarks of Romania’s position in Europe.
